Dealer Information

Establishing Accounts
To establish an account, prospective dealers must fill out a dealer application. Each application will be qualified prior to our shipping to that new account. Upon activation of the account, an account number will be issued and a dealer price list will be forwarded. Orders may be placed by phone, fax or with a J&D sales rep. Please use your account number and J&D order numbers when ordering to assure accuracy of your order. A dealer update will be required with material changes in the business in order to keep account information accurate.

Terms
All accounts will be shipped C.O.D. cash or credit card unless a credit application has been filled out completely and company check accepted status has been established.

Open Accounts
To establish credit, an open account application must be completed with signatures and references for processing. Please allow 15 working days for an open account to be approved. A returned check charge of $25 will be assessed on all checks returned for insufficient funds.

Open account purchases are due 30 days from the invoice date. Overdue accounts are subject to a 1.5% monthly service charge, and will be placed on C.O.D. until the account has been brought up to date. Freight allowances will not be allowed on overdue accounts. If legal action or collection fees are necessary to collect an overdue account, the overdue account will be held responsible for all costs incurred.

Minimum Order
Orders under $35 will be subject to a $5 service charge.

Shipments
We make every effort to ship all orders received each day. To assure shipment, place your order by 3PM EST. Shipments are made via the method deemed best, unless we are instructed otherwise.

Freight
Ground transportation on invoices of $500 or more are prepaid freight within the Continental United States. For shipments outside this zone but within the United States, a freight allowance of up to 5% of the invoice total for merchandise will be allowed. Call for freight to zones outside of the United States. Expedited and special freight will be shipped freight collect. Freight allowance does not include C.O.D., insurance or other carrier imposed surcharges. Prepaid freight will not be allowed on shipments to overdue accounts.

Backorders
Merchandise which is not immediately available will be placed on backorder unless otherwise advised. Backorders received within 30 days will be shipped upon receipt useless otherwise advised. Ground freight will be prepaid upon shipment of backorders from partial invoices except new products that have yet to be received for shipment.

Returns
All goods being returned must be accompanied by a return authorization number. Customer service will assign this number. This number should appear on the shipping label.

Notify us within 5 days of receipt of items which are defective or shipped in error. If the error is ours, a full credit will be issued including freight. For all other merchandise returns and refused shipments, a handling fee of 20% and freight costs will be charged to cover restocking the item(s). All returns not accompanied by the original invoice or invoice number will be credited based on our lowest selling price in the last 12 months. Closeout and discontinued merchandise may not be returned.

Merchandise returned because of defect will be inspected upon arrival. If a defect is confirmed, we may be required to repair the item per the manufacturer’s warranty guidelines. Do not replace defective items until confirmation has been received from our customer service department to assure that the product will be replaced, not repaired. Some warranty requests may require the return be made directly to the manufacturer per the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Claims
Title to merchandise passes to the customer on delivery to common carrier. All claims for damage or shortage must be made with the carrier at the time of delivery.

Warranty
J&D Walter Distributors, Inc. makes no warranties whatsoever, whether expressed, implied or statutory, including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantibility and fitness for a particular purpose. All merchandise distributed by J&D Walter Distributors, Inc. will be warrantied in accordance with the manufacturers’ terms of warranty. We will, on the dealer’s behalf, make every effort to obtain warranty authorization from the product’s manufacturer, and will notify the dealer as soon as a warranty decision has been made.

Monday through Friday 8:30 to 5:00 EST. During the summer season sales office hours are extended. Closed Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
